In celebration of the bicentenary of the creation of the game, designers at Walkers Slater have worked closely with Rugby School to create the Rugby Football Bicentenary Collection. This limited edition collection is made up of Harris Tweed jackets for both men and women, as well as a range of accessories, reflecting the heritage and significance of this momentous occasion in a tweed of captivating shades taken from the Rugby School crest.  

Harris Tweed is the perfect cloth to highlight these shades. By nature of its weaving method, wherein the wool is dyed before being spun instead of dyeing spun yarn, Harris Tweed is a uniquely colourful tweed, and preserves the significant shades of the Rugby School crest throughout weaving. 

A base of beautifully deep blue is brightened and enhanced by jewel toned greens and subtle flecks of purple. In particular, ‘Cambridge Blue’ is used to highlight the close ties between the school and Oxford and Cambridge.
